Jaitley made GST Council head in absentia

Grapevine has it that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is increasingly being sidelined, including in matters related to him. The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, okayed the process, formation, and functioning of the GST Council on Monday. The Council will be headed by the Finance Minister and comprised of representative of all 29 states and two Union Territories. Interestingly, Jaitley was not present in the Cabinet meeting as he was holidaying in Uttarakhand.
