UP Govt issues new guidelines to check spread of Delta plus variant

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized the need for containment of Covid-19 cases as the Delta plus variant is said to be highly transmissible. The state government has issued a new set of guidelines for dealing with patients infected with Delta plus.

The Chief Minister reportedly said, “We have to be very careful. All necessary steps should be taken as per the advice of experts without delay. The condition of the state is getting better every day in view of the corona pandemic. It is time to exercise extra vigilance and caution. A little carelessness can lead to a big problem.”

According to the government data, in the last 24 hours 237,783 people were tested. Till now, over 5.75 crore Covid tests have been conducted in UP.

The daily positivity rate is lower than 0.1 per cent. While 174 new cases were reported, 254 persons recovered and discharged in this period.

Total active cases in the state are 2,946 with 1,810 people being treated at home.
