Very heavy rainfall expected in parts of Chhattisgarh

The National Weather Forecasting Centre of India Meteorological Department or IMD today forecast rainfall in various parts of the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, whereas heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over southeast Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mahe.

Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) is very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; with (speed 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and with lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Rayalseema, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.

Strong Winds (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Southwest and West central Arabian Sea; over West central Bay of Bengal along and off Andhra Pradesh coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
