Rupa Ganguly nominated to Rajya Sabha

The government has nominated West Bengal BJP leader and former actress Rupa Ganguly to the Rajya Sabha. The seat was vacated by cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Siddhu.
Ganguly, who unsuccessfully contested last year’s Assembly elections, is best known for the role of Draupadi in the popular television serial Mahabharata broadcast in 1988.
